Self-driving is possible. For Barron River, the meeting point is Lake Placid car park (20-minute drive from Cairns). For Tully River, meet at the Golden Gumboot or Banyan Plaza Shopping Centre in Tully (140 km south of Cairns).
Shuttle
Recommended
Rafting companies offer shuttle services, picking up from central Cairns locations and accommodations in Cairns and the Northern Beaches. This is the most common and recommended method.
Bus
Tour operators provide bus transfers from Cairns and Northern Beaches to the Barron River and Tully River launch sites. For Tully River, buses depart from Cairns around 10:00 AM.
