How to get there

Bus
Recommended
Direct bus services operate from Stavanger to the Pulpit Rock trailhead. Several companies offer express services, with multiple pick-up points in the city. Public bus line 100 to Jørpeland followed by a taxi is a budget option.

Car
Recommended
Driving from Stavanger is direct via Route 13 and the Ryfylke Tunnel. Follow signs to Preikestolen. Parking is available at P1 (trailhead) and P2 (1km further).

Taxi
Recommended
Taxis are available from Stavanger to Pulpit Rock, offering a direct but more expensive option. Alternatively, take public bus line 100 to Solbakk bus terminal and then a taxi to the trailhead.

Ferry
Historically, a ferry from Stavanger to Tau, followed by a bus to the trailhead, was used. While the ferry still operates, it is less common now due to the Ryfylke Tunnel.
