How to get there

Bus
Recommended
Numerous Lignes d'Azur bus lines serve the Promenade des Anglais. Key stops include "Ferber / Promenade", "Carras / Promenade", "Congrès / Promenade", "Quai Des Etats-Unis", and "Aéroport / Promenade". Bus 12+ runs the length of the Promenade from Carras to Jardin Albert 1er. Bus 98 also serves the Promenade des Anglais, particularly useful for areas east of Port Lympia.

Metro
Recommended
Nice's tramway (Light Rail) system, operated by Lignes d'Azur, provides excellent access. Tram Line 2 connects Nice Côte d'Azur Airport to Port Lympia, with stops like "Carras", "Fabron", "Sainte Hélène", "CUM", and "Magnan" located directly along or a short walk from the Promenade des Anglais. Tram Line 1 has stops like "Masséna" and "Jean Médecin" which are a short walk to the central beaches.

Walking
Recommended
The Promenade des Anglais stretches for approximately 7 kilometers along the Bay of Angels, making walking a primary and enjoyable way to access the pebble beaches. Many central areas and public transport stops are within a short walking distance of the beachfront. For example, from Masséna car park, the Promenade des Anglais is no more than a 5-minute walk.

Bike
Nice is very bike-friendly, especially along the Promenade des Anglais, which features dedicated bicycle lanes. Bike rental services like Mobilboard Nice and Baja Bikes are available in the city center, often near the Promenade des Anglais. Vélobleu stations also offer bike hire.

Boat
Various boat tours and cruises depart from the Port de Nice (Port Lympia), offering scenic views of the Côte d'Azur and access to nearby islands or coastal towns like Saint-Tropez, Monaco, or Ile Sainte Marguerite. These are primarily for excursions rather than direct transport to Nice's local pebble beaches.

Car
Several underground parking lots are conveniently located near the Promenade des Anglais. Options include Ruhl Méridien (1 Promenade des Anglais), Sulzer, Grimaldi, and Masséna car parks. On-street parking is limited.

Ferry
Ferry services operate from Nice's Port Lympia to destinations such as Corsica (Bastia, Ajaccio, Ile Rousse, Porto Vecchio, Porto Torres), Sardinia (Golfo Aranci), Monaco, and Saint-Tropez. While not for reaching Nice's immediate pebble beaches, they offer connections to other coastal areas.

Shuttle
While there isn't a dedicated 'beach shuttle', the local bus line 12+ and Tram Line 2 from Nice Airport (NCE) serve stops along the Promenade des Anglais, such as "Aéroport / Promenade" or "Fabron / Promenade", providing a direct link to the beaches. Private airport transfer services are also available.

Taxi
Taxis are readily available throughout Nice. A taxi ride from Nice city center to the Promenade des Anglais can take as little as 5-6 minutes. From Nice-Ville train station to Meyerbeer Beach, a taxi takes about 2 minutes.

Train
The main train station, Nice-Ville, is approximately a 17-minute walk from the Promenade des Anglais and central beaches. From Nice-Ville, you can walk directly or take a short bus or tram ride to the beachfront. For example, bus 8+ from Parc Impérial / Gambetta (near Nice-Ville) takes about 10 minutes to Congrès / Promenade.
