How to get there

Bus
Recommended
The local public bus system, operated by Nordland Kollektiv, connects the main towns and villages. The Lofotekspressen (Route 300) is a key long-distance bus that travels from Narvik, via Evenes Airport, to Svolvær and further down the islands to Å. To travel between Svolvær and Henningsvær, travelers can take a direct bus, which is often route 18-743 or simply referred to as line 743. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Key bus stops in Svolvær include "Svolvær sentrum Lofotgata," and the main stop in Henningsvær is "Henningsvær sentrum."

Car
Recommended
The primary thoroughfare through the Lofoten Islands is the E10 highway, also known as King Olav's Road. This scenic route connects the mainland to the archipelago and runs through major towns. Car rentals are available at the airports and in major towns like Svolvær and Leknes.

Ferry
Recommended
A popular and picturesque route is the car ferry from Bodø to Moskenes, which takes about 3-4 hours. From Moskenes, it's a drive of approximately 2.5 hours to Svolvær. During the summer, a ferry operates between Skutvik and Svolvær. Another key ferry link is between Bognes and Lødingen.

Taxi
Taxis are available in larger towns like Svolvær and can be found at the airport and ferry terminals. It is advisable to pre-book, especially during peak seasons.
