The 840 bus (Watzmann Express) provides a direct connection from Salzburg Hauptbahnhof (Bus Stall J) or Salzburg Mozartsteg/Rudolfskai to Berchtesgaden Hauptbahnhof, with onward local bus connections to the park.

Driving from Salzburg, take the B150 road south, connecting to the B305 in Germany, which leads directly to Berchtesgaden. Paid parking is available at the Haus der Berge visitor center.
